I didn’t want to write about el camino or finding your way because it’s some great sporting feat. It isn’t and I have friends who’ve cycled it in just one day! (Now that’s a sporting feat!).
No, I wanted to write about it because of the feeling the experience left me with and because of the undeniable metaphor between the road and life.
Something that has hit home more and more for me and in working with others is that we don’t have depression, weight, failure, financial or even end of the world problems. True story.
More than likely we’re simply stuck in a habit of thinking we’re fat, or depressed, broke, or that we can’t, etc and then using the ‘evidence’ we see in the world to back it up and reinforce the story we tell about how we are and how the world is…

How many times have you wanted to achieve something but it’s felt impossible? You’ve looked at some successful entrepreneur, executive, celebrity or start-up exit and thought “I’ll never be like that”.
Here’s a little secret I want to share. Success is easier than you think!
This whole Coronavirus whilst making me some things in a new perspective has also brought home some truths I’ve long since known but never articulated in one place. Let me say this is by no means any answer to life however remembering these truths and even more importantly embodying some of them have helped me recently more than ever.
I do think that there are two simple ways we can make life vastly easier for ourselves; one is to shift perspective and the other is to fool ourselves out of our normal patterns of behaviour.
Coffee is an ever utilised form of life saving not merely because of the caffeinated energy we receive as a result of it but because the social connection as a result of the experience. As it turns out, it may also help you solve problems, increase your social circle, widen your network and improve your performance in many areas of life, not just exercise.
